NMDP connects patients with their donor match for a life-saving blood stem cell transplant. NMDP provides patients and their families with one-on-one support, education, and guidance before, during, and after transplant.

NMDP is a cause that is near and dear to our hearts here at Morning Fresh Dairy Farm.
The idea of what would become the National Marrow Donor Program/Be The Match (now NMDP) actually started in Northern Colorado, with Dr. Robert Graves (the father of Morning Fresh Dairy owner, Rob Graves), who was searching for a match for his 10-year old daughter, Laura.
If you could save someone’s life, would you do it?
- Every three minutes someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer or life-threatening disease, like leukemia or sickle cell anemia, and a transplant is their only hope for survival.
- 1 in 432 U.S. registry members will go on to donate.
- There is no cost to the donor.
Sadly, 70 percent of patients don’t have a fully matched donor in their family.
That means they depend on NMDP to find an unrelated donor who can help. With so many patients waiting for a match, we need as many people as possible to register, and we need registry members who are committed to helping save a life. If you’re contacted as a match, you could be a patient’s only hope for a cure. Patients are most likely to match an adult donor of their own ethnic background.
