Farm Happenings
The morning commute continues to be slowed by local flocks of wild turkeys. The deer pass through at least a couple times a day. Bears are finally hibernating. Geese are flying. Things are good on the farm.
As winter weather sets in, our triticale cover crops protect farm ground by forming a dense, protective layer which helps stabilize the soil. Triticale also enhances nutrient cycling by preventing nutrient leaching and feeding beneficial soil microorganisms. Soil health is a vital component of farm health.
